Starcraft II: Legacy of the Void

While IEM Katowice is often known for its premier Counter-Strike: Global Offensive tournament, it is also home to one of the year's biggest StarCraft II majors. Bringing the best players from around the world together, the tournament started a few days ago and concluded last night, with a new victor crowned.

Following a close 4-3 series, it was ENCE's Joona "Serral" Sotala who came out on top, after beating Riccardo "Reynor" Romiti in the grand finals. The victory has seen Serral back on top in the StarCraft II scene, and has seen Serral heading home with a comfortable $171,000 prize pool.

This final was also quite the unique one, as it marked the first time the championship was decided between two non-Korean players, and the victory also cemented Serral as the second player in competitive StarCraft history to win both BlizzCon and IEM Katowice, with the first being South Korea's Lee "Rogue" Byeong-yeol.
