OpTic India's CS:GO player Nikhil 'Forsaken' Kumawat was recently confirmed to have cheated in the eXTREMESLAND Asia Finals competition, prompting OpTic to release the entire roster, but that's not the end of the story, as ESL India has revealed that they too are looking into past events for evidence of cheating.
"Based on the proof from Zowie eXTREMESLAND Asia Finals, we at ESL India are investigating all the 20 players in the #ESLIndiaPremiership Finale for any potential cheats on their drives," the first tweet reads.
"On immediate inspection, we have discovered the same cheat program that was used by Forsaken in Shanghai on the SSD he used at the ESL India Premiership Fall Finale and have shared this evidence with the Esports Integrity Coalition (ESIC). We at ESL India have considered this a Level 4 offence under the Code of Conduct of ESIC. The Commissioner of ESIC is conducting an independent inquiry and will deliver his verdict soon."
ESIC is the Esports Integrity Coalition, and they work to stomp out offences like gambling and cheating in the esports community, so they'll assign sanctions to those found guilty, which should hopefully work to improve the Indian CS:GO community moving forward.
