Crimsix: "The person we wanted was Clayster above everyone"

The Dallas Empire star touched upon the team's recent roster changes.

Before the start of the 2021 Call of Duty League season, the Dallas Empire had to make a change to its championship winning roster to suit the new 4v4 format of the league (down from 5v5). The change ended up seeing James "Clayster" Eubanks leaving the team, where he ultimately signed with the New York Subliners. But, it seems that despite that decision, the Empire has recently tried to bring Clayster back into the organisation, as Ian "Crimsix" Porter recently mentioned in a Twitter thread.

Crimsix, who has been with the team since its creation, stated that after Cuyler "Huke" Garland was replaced with Tyler "FeLo" Johnson, the change was a temporary one as they looked to trade for the player who they did want: which was Clayster.

"When we replaced Cuyler w/ @FeLo, we told Tyler that it was very likely that it was temporary. Tyler took a lot of the flak & still gave it 110% every single day despite knowing this. It was also done so Inder [Indervir "iLLeY" Dhaliwal] could start running a sub in preparation for who we wanted at the time.

The person we wanted was @Clayster above everyone. As Clay is an AR, we were fine with running group matches w/ Felo & Inder on sub until we got him. Trade negotiations fell through especially after NYSL just got 2nd in Stage 3 so we can't really be mad at that. Just unfortunate."

When the trade fell through after the Subliners second place finish in Stage 3, the team picked up Reece "Vivid" Drost instead - who still plays for the team today, and has played a crucial part in seeing the team remain second in the standings behind the Atlanta Faze.

"With that being said, @VividTheWarrior has proven he can fly with the eagles and has been the most random, yet most fortunate pickup I've ever been apart of. Guy is in the workshop day in and day out and I'm really liking where the team is at right now."

The Dallas Empire will be looking to rack up some last-minute points in the final Major of the 2021 CDL season this weekend. You can watch the action here, when it kicks off with the Paris Legion facing the Seattle Surge at 20:00 BST / 21:00 CEST tomorrow.
