Evo Japan gets over 5,000 registered fighters

Split over a number of different games.

HQ

The Evo fighting game tournament will be heading to Japan at the end of the month for the first Evo Japan event ever, and now Evo's Joey Cuellar has announced on Twitter that over 5,000 players have registered to play, and it probably won't surprise you to hear that Street Fighter V was the most popular game on offer.

Other games still had quite a lot of interest though. Arms, for instance, saw 340 fighters register to become the best, which is great considering how short a time Arms has been out and Nintendo's own emerging commitment to esports, and Tekken 7 has also got quite a large group, as has Super Smash Bros. for Wii U.

Do you think Evo Japan will be an impressive event?

KRITIK. Von Jonas Mäki

Ein Liebhaber von Capcoms Kampfspielreihe hat sich das neue Street Fighter reingezogen - und ist leider ein bisschen enttäuscht.
